I am so glad I came here! The staff is very friendly and welcoming! The facility is very well kept and sanitary which I really appreciated. I have moved around from multiple other dental offices due to bad experiences. Let’s just say I am so glad I found Ohana Dental! Dr.Hong is very knowledgeable and friendly. He really takes his time to focus on you as a patient and makes sure you understand everything before moving forward.

Chris and Joy are everything you could hope for in medical professionals: competent, conscientious, and respectful. It is evident that they care for their work and patients, ensuring I was well-informed of their practice, payment plan, pandemic precautions, and more. The facilities reflect their demeanor; I have never seen such a well-though-out and advanced space for a dentist office.

Recently switched over to Ohana Dental and Ill just say it was a great experience. The entire team there was so friendly and helpful and was unlike other dentists I’ve been to. If you are on the fence about whether or not to switch dentists, I would definitely say to choose Ohana Dental. You won’t regret the decision.

Do I Need An Extraction?

Your permanent teeth are supposed to keep you smiling for the rest of your life. However, in some cases, an extraction is necessary to address a serious dental health problem. Common reasons for extraction include:

  • Severe dental trauma
  • Dental infection
  • Decay too severe for a filling or crown
  • Advanced periodontal disease
  • Overcrowding
Teeth Extractions

If you think you need an extraction, call our office right away. Our dentist will perform an examination of your tooth and take X-rays to assess its condition. We will do everything we can to restore your affected tooth through restorative care, such as a root canal. Once our dentist determines extraction is the best course of treatment, we will schedule your procedure as soon as possible. We offer extended hours to help fit necessary care into your schedule and give you the relief you need.

Do Teeth Extractions Hurt?

An extraction is straightforward and relatively pain-free. In most cases, patients experience slight pressure during their extraction. Our dentist will administer local anesthesia to numb your mouth, reduce discomfort, and help you relax. Be sure to ask our team about any other comfort aids we offer to make your appointment as stress-free as possible.

How Long Does It Take To Recover From An Extraction?

Recovery typically takes 1-3 days. Take antibiotics and pain relievers as recommended by our dentist. Some pain, bleeding, and swelling is normal and should subside within a day or two. Try to rest as much as possible and follow all post-surgical instructions provided by our team. If you experience any excessive bleeding or discomfort, call our office right away.

Do I Need A Dental Implant?

If you lose a tooth, it is important to replace it as soon as possible. Leaving tooth loss untreated can lead to other dental problems in the future. Be sure to discuss your tooth loss replacement options with our dentist during your consultation. You may be a candidate for implant dentistry.

Do You Offer Financing?

Yes, we offer flexible financing options to help make your dental care as affordable and accessible as possible. Our practice has partnered with CareCredit to fit any family’s budget!

Do You Accept Walk-Ins and Emergency Appointments?

Only your dentist can determine if extraction is right for you based on your treatment needs. However, an untreated tooth infection will not heal and will likely worsen without proper attention from a trained dental professional. Ignoring a severely damaged, decayed, or infected tooth can lead to the surrounding bone and gum tissues weakening over time, making the damage much more difficult to repair.
